Internships in Madrid - Adelante Abroad

My experience was unique because when I first got to Madrid I was still uncertain about how I felt about a law career. I was scared and unsure about how who I wanted to be as a professional. "Was Law really my calling?" I thought. However, I took everything with a grain of salt and decided to get the best out of my experience regardless. When I first Fernando Fanego, the attorney I was interning, I felt a connection to him. He had an attitude and a mentality that I admired as a businessman and a professional. Working alongside him was impressive, he had so many connections with people all around Madrid and I respected the fact that he took me in as his ward everywhere he went. He introduced me to countless of people and gave me an incredible experience, one that I will never forget.

Very lovey experience. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the exact internship I asked for (legal). However, I still enjoyed my internship (charity office work). I met quite a lot of new people and had a lot of fun with them. I was really worried before arriving there, but I found a page on Facebook which connected everyone on the Adelante programme. The staff in Madrid were super friendly and helpful. However, in the housing no one had air conditioning, just fans - horrible during the heatwave

I came to live in Madrid for 3 months. I did an internship that involved teaching Spanish children English, which was very rewarding as I knew that what I was doing was benefitting these children. I have made friends with people from around the world, greatly improved my Spanish and have seen so many amazing things in Spain. During my time in Spain, I also travelled to different cities such as Segovia, Barcelona and Toledo. I highly recommend visiting other cities during your time in Spain. Living in Spain has given me invaluable life skills as I was living on my own for the first time, meaning I had to cook, clean and food-shop for myself. Coming to live in Spain for 3 months was the best decision I have ever made, and it has been an unforgettable life experience!

My time abroad was such a great experience! I was really happy with my psychology internship placement where I learned a lot! I was able to work with some of the top Psychiatrists and Psychologists in Madrid. With my placement, I was also able to travel to a lot of other places in Europe. My housing placement was perfect as it was right in the center of Madrid. The lifestyle and nightlife in Madrid were super fun, I could not recommend and city and country to study abroad more! I only wish I was able to spend more time abroad, everything was perfect!

This was the best experience in the entire world! The staff at adelante and the staff here in Madrid have been so amazing throughout my entire 6 months in Spain. Adelante had stayed in touch and continually checked in on how I was doing. And the best part, the help from the connections in Madrid have been what has made this experience so amazing. From the language school to the AMAZING internship placement, I could not say any bigger thanks to Angel and everyone else here in Madrid.I am very thankful for this opportunity and think that everyone who is considering it should go for it!

Adelante provided me an incredible experience. This past summer I went to Madrid for the months June and July. It was my first time in Europe so naturally I was nervous, but the staff helped with all my questions and concerns. I had a ride when I got to the airport. They set me up with a beautiful apartment was in the city with a view and right next to the metro station. I absolutely loved the Spanish Class at Eureka. Ángel is literally and angel! He helped me so much and made my transition to Madrid to smooth! I learned so much from my internship and I got to meet so many amazing people from all over the world. Highly recommend!

This experience proves that even if you are an experienced professional, there is ALWAYS something new you can learn in life. My thanks to IberEnglish, my manager was incredible, their environment is wonderful, I felt comfortable, supported and safe there. Help was always there for me, both by Adelante and Eureka, whenever I needed it. The people in Spain are so warm, so kind and so generous. Truly, I know for a fact that I can be very happy living in Madrid, which is why I would love to come back. I need to work o my Spanish! Overall, a wonderful experience, especially with so much uncertainty due to COVID, going to Spain was the best decision I ever made.

This was a great experience for me. Adelante made things fairly straightforward when it came to applying to the program and getting set up with an internship in Madrid. The staff at Eureka Academia de Español was also wonderful and helped a lot in my time abroad. I thought the language classes there were extremely helpful. There was a learning curve with the internship, both for me and my employer, because they had never had an intern before. So, it took a few weeks to really figure out my role in the company. But, in about a month, I really felt like I was fitting in at Amapola Biocosmetics and was contributing to the company. My Spanish improved a ton in the 5 months I was there. I loved that there was always something to do in Madrid. There was always a new museum, bar, restaurant, cafe, club, or street to see. I met good friends in and out of the program. I loved my little apartment, which was right in the center of the city, so it made it easy to get everywhere. And I was able to travel around Spain as well on the weekends. I even made it to Morocco one weekend! A wonderful opportunity, and one that I will not forget anytime soon. I was lucky that I was able to complete my program before Coronavirus shut everything down!
