About Program

A truly diverse city, Sydney is home to 120 nationalities and more than 250 languages are spoken here. This international influence shines through almost every aspect of life, including in the workplace. Named the “innovation and technology capital of Australia,” Sydney is a global business hub in the Asia-Pacific region and a nucleus of activity for the start-up community. Impact your future career by studying and interning in this beautiful city.

CAPA’s Global Business Institute is a certificate program in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s College of Business Administration. The program examines the impact of globalization on business practices. Through a combination of business courses and an optional internship placement, you’ll gain and strengthen professional skills, learn how to effectively articulate these to grad schools and hiring managers, build a network of contacts abroad, and return home with 12-15 credits and a Certificate of Study in Global Business.

CAPA Review

Honestly, doing the CAPA Program was one of the best decisions I made in my life. CAPA allowed me to discover a side of me that I never knew I had. For three months, I was able to get an idea of what life was going to be life after college. I was responsible for cooking my own food and relying on myself for simple everyday tasks. CAPA allowed me to become more acquainted with a side of the world I have not previously experienced. I gained real knowledge while completing my interest with Survivor Watch. While completing my international internship (which looks great on a resume), I was able to become more dynamic and flexible with working with different types of people. CAPA placed me with a great internship site that allows me to learn what I did in Sydney to be applied back to any future career work. For the Academic side, I had three classes (Including one for my internship that meet almost every other week). Classes were anywhere between 2.5 hours to 3 hours. All of the professors were really nice and accommodating to students. No questions were left unanswered and all assignments were given back with grades in a reasonable amount of time. I have learning accommodations and CAPA was able to make sure my studying experience was replicated to what I get in my home university. The excursions were fun and really showed you what is it like to be an Australian. These three months were honestly some of the best of my life and I would love to do it all again.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
I tried Vegemite which is like a sweet soy sauce. I wasn't a fan but you get exposed to the culture down under.
