Remote Internships by Asia Internship Program (AIP)

With a very unfortunate situation around the pandemic restriction, I was only able to conduct my internship while being at home. My family and friends were very skeptical about remote internship experience since it was the first time in history when remote internships were approved by universities as equal to face-to-face internships in order to get credits. However, after a first week at the company where I was able to utilize my language skills, it became obvious that remote internship before has nothing to do with remote internships post-pandemic. The majority of full-time employees were also working remotely, hence, I felt comfortable and not like an outsider. Everyone understood the current state and have tried to adapt to it as fast as possible. I am very grateful for the assistance AIP provided me with and most importantly for the placement in the company where I was able to learn a lot even remotely.

Due to the pandemic, I could not go outside of my country because there were too many restrictions and it was super difficult to apply for the visa applicant at that time. I decided to do a remote internship instead and I found out that this internship helped me create the useful skillset that I would have to use in the future! Since I had applied with AIP and got a position offer from the company in Thailand, it was easy to start because it was remote working, so we started right away after the document was done. My supervisor was very professional and he guided me through the process and the given tasks I needed to finish. He also taught me some effective tips for working remotely because in the future he believed that the work type would be more flexible and we would have to work from home more and more. I agreed with him and tried to learn everything as much as I could. I wish I will be able to visit their office in Thailand once I have a chance!

A great experience during this difficult period of time has taught me many things. I actually would like to have an internship abroad at the beginning, but due to the pandemic that causes traveling be harder than before. Therefore I decided to change the type of my internship to be a remote internship instead of an in-person internship.
On the other hand, this internship has given me many things such as remote working skills in which we will have to be concentrated and prioritize our tasks carefully to finish them in time and also it helps me improve my communication skill as we worked remotely, therefore, we have to make it be most efficient.

The remote internship is something that should be promoted more among students since from my experience distance work is truly the future of the workforce. The young generation should be the one moving forward and not just changing the world into a better place but also providing alternatives that will be more efficient and profitable for everyone. Rather than staying in a cubicle in the office, remote work develops strong self-discipline and lets you work on something meaningful without being checked every minute by a supervisor. Appreciate AIP's help in opening eyes into new normal reality and smooth process of the placement.

I desperately needed an internship to complete my degree. I tried looking for internships on my own, but to no success. Luckily, I came across AIP. I applied on their website, sent my CV, and next thing I know I was being interviewed by one of their admin. Everyone has been so nice and helpful throughout the whole process. They sent many great offers until I finally found the right fit for me. They guided me through processing my visa and not long after I was on a flight to Japan! The whole process was really smooth and quick. During my time in Japan, I met so many great people, experienced their wonderful culture, and gained hands-on work experience that I will always remember. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of it without the help of the wonderful staff of AIP!

I completed by first ever remote internship with the help of AIP a few months ago. I was supposed to do an internship in Singapore but had to cancel everything last minute due to the pandemic situation. A friend of mine was doing remote internships through AIP, so I decided to do the same. Honestly, I had my doubts because I didn’t think it would be possible to gain hands-on experience through a remote internship, but I was wrong! I got a chance to work with a tech company in Singapore. Even though we were in different continents and time zones, they treated me like one of their employees and gave me tasks that helped me improve my skills. I had the freedom to work from anywhere and at my own pace. My AIP supervisor was also very kind and responsive to emails. To anyone considering a remote internship now, I definitely recommend you try it out!

Saying that this internship was great is a huge understatement. We're in the day and age where remote styled work is encouraged ever since the COVID-19 global pandemic.

It was a struggle at the start to find an internship on my own due to the lack of responses from so many companies that it felt that I needed help. I came through a couple of internship providers but AIP was the one that stood out the most. Going through the whole process was great and simple. The companies provided to me were interested and I ended up finding the right one for me!

I was able to gain so much experience from this internship alone and I even decided to go through with a longer duration just because of how valuable the experience was. I would like to give my thanks to AIP and to my host company for taking care of me throughout the way.

Never in my life did I think I would be doing my internship remotely. But with the circumstances we are in right now, I am lucky to have been able to do an internship at all. I admit, I had my doubts about it at first. However, AIP made the progress and the experience so comfortable for me that it ended up being a really good time. I also know that this may be the future of the work environment as well so I am glad I got the chance to experience a bit of it with my internship. Thank you AIP for this opportunity. I am probably one of the few people who would have opted for a remote internship even without the ongoing pandemic. I am naturally a very introverted person. However, this didn't stop me from wanting to do an internship. I had a pre conceived notion that remote meant not as high quality as an on site internship. However, I was mistaken. The process AIP took me through to find me a company that was perfect for me and so well organized, it almost felt like I was on ground. It was an unreal experience. Thank you AIP!
