Verto London Spring 2023

I have been with Verto for a full semester in Spain, and I loved it. They provided all kinds of support for the culture shock that we were experiencing, and they had counselors, doctors, and student life coaches to talk to if we ever had any problems abroad. Currently, I’m in my second semester with Verto (in London), and I highly recommend Verto for students who are unsure about what they want their college experience to look like. They offer a fantastic experience abroad, but they also provide many post-Verto college plans with their partner schools. Aside from academics, Verto offers countless excursions no matter the location you are studying in. In London, we’ve had an exciting excursion almost every single weekend so far. I highly recommend Verto!

Pros
  • Excursions
  • Partner Schools
  • Living accommodations

London Verto

My son went through this program so my review is based on what he has told me. Overall, the program was well managed from early introductions to course selections and trip preparations. There were many zoom sessions set up early to walk us through the process and help us prepare. When in London, overall, he had a very good experience. He had one emergency issue that was quickly resolved when I called the support staff on site there. The classes were good and the scheduling of longer class times once per week allowed for him to explore the city and learn to be on his own. I think that he will value this experience for the rest of his life.

Pros
  • Good variety of planned excursions
  • Prepping the student ahead of the trip
  • Location of housing and education center
Cons
  • Flats were not comfortable
  • Late to find out class schedule and roomates

Best decision I've ever made

I'm so happy I decided to study abroad with Verto! Not only can I gain credits and be on track to graduate in 4 years, but I get to do so in such an amazing location! London is a world-class city and there is never a shortage of things to do. If you love traveling, meeting new people, and hands-on learning outside of the classroom, Verto is for you. One of my favorite aspects of Verto's programming is its approach to experiential learning. I love going on field trips in my classes and using the city of London to really enhance my learning. For example, I've been to the British Museum for art history, Speakers Corner in Hyde Park for Communications, and the Imperial War Museum for International Relations. Since classes only meet once a week (and most people have no classes on Friday!) I've also been able to explore London and travel to places outside the UK. I can't recommend Verto enough :)

My Verto Experience

As a current Verto member in London, it is amazing to be able to gain college credits while being able to live in a different country. I have been able to understand the lifestyle of a different country, while still being able to combine my lifestyle before this experience. I have been able to travel, both as a part of the Verto program and individually. At Verto, I can have a different experience than the "conventional" four-year college path. This program is recommended to people that want that different experience and love to travel.

Choose Verto

Verto Education was the best decision I’ve ever made! It is such a welcoming, engaging community and I could not have chose a better program to study abroad with. The area of housing is in a very safe area and all of the housing accommodations Verto offers makes living in London even easier. All of the staff is so helpful and caring towards their students and makes sure everyone is getting their needs met, mentally and academically. I’m so grateful I chose Verto because they were the best community and environment to be in and they are so amazing to their students, my student abroad experience was easy, fun, and everything I hoped for and more.

Pros
  • caring staff
  • great location
  • fun excursions
Cons
  • bus travel can be difficult
  • some housing equipment missing but staff was quick to fix it
  • lots to take in at first but staff is so helpful at getting everyone adjusted
