CIEE TEFL Online 150-Hour TEFL Certificate Course

The CIEE team is marvelous. They respons promptly to questions about enrolling and any questions during the course. My experience with the course instructor was also wonderful. CIEE has recruited really knowledgeable people who are so excited to share everything they know about the TEFL field with you, which makes the prospect of the practicum less daunting. The online platform is fairly intuitive, but engagement with classmates is really what you make it. You get out what you put in. A word of caution, though: 11 weeks goes by FAST. There is a lot of material to get through, plus assignments, so it's important to stay on top of it. When the website suggests 2-3 hours per day, take it seriously.

This program offers significant content and live sessions for those who look forward to entering the teaching field, and for those who want to further their education. I've been an English teacher for a while and wanted to get extra training in ESL. Therefore, I made the decision to join this program. The flexibility of the course and the support that the CIEE team offers, encourages you to accomplish your goals successfully. I'm glad I took this program. I was able to add this experience to my resume and find more job opportunities.

The course is completed within 11 weeks! I was astounded by how much significant information could be packed into such a short period of time. Due to there only being 14 other peers, I was able get frequent feedback on the subject matter. The practicum will be taking place and ending during the summer, so make sure you set up your teaching arrangements before schools let out for summer. There are career options, after obtaining this certificate, for both college graduates and students with less than undergraduate degrees.

The program helps prepare you for becoming an ESL teacher abroad and provides a variety of tools and opportunities to expand learning. You are assigned to an 11-week class with a teaching practicum on the side, and you are expected to complete everything in a timely manner. If you do fall behind, it can be hard to catch up, but you get a lot of great information from the lectures, plenty of practice in the assignments, and a lot of support from your tutor. I wish the content was more consistent.

I took this course while juggling multiple jobs and a big move. My instructor and the CIEE staff were always understanding and supported me so I could finish the course. The content is presented in a straightforward, organized manner. All content is immediately relevant, not only to teaching, but to living abroad and intercultural interactions. You can do the coursework, discussion, and assignments and end there, or you can delve deeper with the extra materials provided at the end of each module. There are also downloadable notes for each section so you can follow along or use them to complete assigments/exams later.

I had a great experience during my CIEE TEFL certification program. I enjoyed connecting virtually with my classmates and learning more about teaching, from grammar and curriculum to navigating cultural differences in the classroom. The cost was manageable, the schedule of the coursework wasn't too overwhelming and I especially liked the weekly live meetings with a tutor to help you through the program. I walked away feeling empowered to be the best TEFL teacher I can be, and I'd highly recommend this teaching certificate to anyone!

Not only was I learning to be the most efficient ESL teacher I could be, but I was actually enjoying the process of it!
My tutor, Mina, was helpful and insightful every step of the way, she made sure we understood the material and applied it correctly. Belen-- the technical tutor-- was always kind and quick to respond with any question regarding the site, which is very easy to navigate and understand.
The lessons themself were also filled with very useful information that I apply to this day, there's no way to explain it further, you'll have to try it yourself!

The CIEE TEFL 150-hour course was a great way to become certified to teach English as a second language. First of all, the platform was easily accessible from the app on a phone or a laptop. It should be noted, however, that online meetings can only be accessed through a laptop or computer. The teachers were well-educated, knowledgeable, and very helpful with reminders and outside support. Plus, there are a variety of people available to help you with any questions you may have, and the response time was almost always within a 24-hour window. It was really great to be able to learn alongside other students and have forums to chat online with the other students. I highly recommend the CIEE TEFL course!
